08 June Hello Summer!!Summer has officially started!! Yesterday was the last day of work at school, and it still hasn't quite hit me yet. Even though we were packing everything up, and saying goodbye to the students, it just felt like a regular normal day. Saying goodbye to Steve and Stasha, too, didn't feel like I was saying goodbye for 3 months. That just weirds me out! After work though, one of the staff members had a big party at her house. Tons of the staff was there, and it was AWESOME! They BBQed burgers and brats. We played ladder golf, and there was a bonfire in the backyard. I was there from 4pm-10:30pm. It was good time :D! I just adore the people I work with!! I loved getting to sleep in this morning, but I woke up many times thinking i had to be up and getting ready for work. I do only have one week off before I start working summer school, but i have a feeling all this coming week, I'll be waking up early thinking I have to be somewhere. We had this entire week off from dance, and it's been REALLY nice! We start up again next week. I'm pretty sure I am teaching, but I don't know the exact days or times :P! Hah - i don't have excel installed yet onto my laptop, and have to do that before I can look at the stupid schedule. I didn't reinstall it b/c i never use it, but i do have it. That is on my list of things to do tomorrow! This morning my parents left for a week long bike trip up in Ely, so i saw them off around 2pm. They will be gone for a week. I am very jealous, and wishing I was with them. I told them to invite me along next year!!! Dad said that I may be going by myself next year. Mom is worried she won't make it, but i'm sure she will do just fine. She was biking to work a couple times a week the past couple weeks, and her and Dad were biking pretty frequently in the evenings. They will have a ton of fun! After i saw them off, Ie headed up to Rogers to work on my friend Laura's brother's wedding. I didn't get there till 3:30 b/c traffic was so bad from people traveling out of town. Oh well - I didn't mind! It was a nice day for driving, there was good music on the radio, and I was drinking and iced skim caramel latte macchiatto from Dunn Bros, so i was happy! I was up there till 7pm, and then came home so i could roller blade before it got too dark out. I only skated for 5miles, took me about 30 minutes, but it was fun, and a BEAUTIFUL evening for it! I got to wear my new helmet for the 1st time. I thought it was going to be bulky and annoying, but matter of fact, i didn't even notice that I had it on. Guess it was worth the $70 it cost. After skating, I stopped by Grace's work to say hi to her. I haven't seen her since she got home from California 2 weeks ago. She works at Culvers and it was CRAZY BUSY there when i stopped it. I was able to give her a quick up, but since it was so busy, told her to call me when she was done, and we could chat then. She and I will be getting together Sunday morning for coffee! I can't wait! Nothing like Caribou Coffee and your best friend!! Anyway, after stopping to say hi to Grace, i came home and built a bonfire in the backyard. My pup Louie and I were out there from like 9-10:30. It's a beautiful evening, and we made hotdogs and s'more for supper - mmmmmm!! I was gonna invite some friends over to join me, but I decided I didn't want to be up too terribly late tonight. It was really windy yesterday, and a lot of little sticks and twigs blew off of the trees into the yard. I was able to pick up and burn a bunch of them which i know mom and dad will appreciate when they get home. Well, i'm in for the night now. Jack and Di left this evening to go camping, and so Di gave me a key to their house so I could go up and work in the wedding i'm editing over the weekend. I thought that was awesome of them to trust me!! I mean, there's no reason for them not to, but it's just cool they were so casual about it, like, "Here's a key to our house. You're welcome to come up and edit this weekend!" I will definitely be going up to do that tomorrow. I hope to get up earlier tomorrow morning to go out skating again. We shall see how tired I am. I'm tentative to go skating by the dam tomorrow after how windy it was yesterday. I have a feeling there will be a lot of sticks and stuff on the paths, and that makes it hard to skate on. When i went this afternoon i drove to the school i work at, and skated on residential streets. *Shrugs*... we shall see. There's nothing like skating early in the a.m!! I hope to do that almost every day next week. We shall see!! I'm gonna throw in a movie and go to bed here pretty soon. I think i may even watch "The Holiday"!! I've been using music from that soundtrack for the wedding video i'm making for my friend's brother. I've had the music stuck in my head all day. Perhaps if i watch the movie, i will get it out of my head. Hopefully my updates will be more frequent in the summertime! We shall see!! BYE FOR NOW! |
